    I have a Windows 7 64-bit system and Vegas 9.0c 64-bit.

Project loads fine, but when I click File > Render As, the program immediately crashes with a problem report that says the following:

The logs also contain these lines:

    ERROR Sony.MediaSoftware.DeviceExp.Controller [(null)] – SmpteDrop
    ERROR Sony.MediaSoftware.XDCAMExp.Controller [(null)] – SmpteDrop

Has anyone come across this before? It also happens in 8.0c 64-bit.

I’m also getting the out of memory error in 32 bit versions, but that’s for another day.

Many thanks for any help received 🙂

I just upgraded to Vegas Pro 9 64bit from Vegas 7. I also have a Win& 64bit machine. Same issue. Found any solutions besides returning to 32 bit?

Richard, you need to send error logs to Sony as they’re the only ones who can decipher them.

I found a solution. Find your Application Data folder (‘C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Sony\File Templates’ on Windows 7) and rename the ‘File Templates’ folder then restart Vegas. The problem instantly went away for me.

Can you go to my second thread and read the information to see if you know how to get around the problem without me having to re-install the 32 bit version of svp 9.0c ?
