  Vegas 8.0c and Preview Safe Area display

  I recently made the connection to slowed frame rate in the Video Preview window and the usage of the SAFE AREA overlay. I thought it couldn’t be that but sure enough I turn it off and the video plays much smoother. Has anyone experienced this? I’m not sure if I had this problem in the prior versions.
  I’ve got a feeling my Nvidia Ge6600 card is at fault but it passed all the tests.

  On another note whenever I mask an image it takes a huge toll on my CPU in both rendering and in preview. My machine is running XP Pro, 2gigs ram, 4 hard drives, Vegas Pro 8.0c and 256 on the card. Changing the settings to draft or resizing does not help. Any thoughts on this one?
