Hello I am running windows vista at the moment if that can be any useful info. Well, I did a little bit of research on this issue but still couldn’t find a satisfactory answer. It seems that is the problem for one of my projects that I completed. I ended up going back to it because I wanted to render in a different size. When the project is opened there are some clips that are still online while some others says media offline for some strange reason. I am positively sure that the file locations are untouched. When I check in the project media section of Vegas the source clips are all there. As for Codecs I believe I have them since I can play all the clips fine on my computer. There is no external devices involved either. Sorry for this long post but if someone knows how to fix this by bringing the media back online the info will be great appreciated. Thank you

First make sure you are running the current version of Vegas Pro, there are known issues with certain file types and versions of Vegas.. Then see if those clips that are showing to be offline will still play from the timeline. (Solo the track and check) If they do they click on the media that show offline and select “Select in Project Media List” then from the Project window select “replace” , then select the same clip again to replace it with. That will force Vegas to rewrite the location. Let me know if this helps.

When you open the project does it find all your media or prompt you for locations? Can you find those files on your system outside of Vegas? If you can see your project files and you have not been prompted to locate them on project open up and you also cannot replace them then there must be problem with the software.

Open the project and give it a different name, open another project and import the changed name project into your original as a nested file and drop i on the timeline as you would any other media. Then see if your files are on line or not.

Hmmm they just magically turned online today when I opened it O_O. I just hope it doesn’t decide to go offline again
