Vegas 8 crashing every time I try to render! (ROUND TWO)
Back in September I had a rendering problem with Vegas 8.0c that has mysteriously returned despite my not dicking with any of the settings or trying to render anything I haven’t done dozens of times before.
Below is how I stated the problem last time, followed by what solved the problem (albeit by slowing down rendering dramatically).
[POST FROM LAST TIME]
PROBLEM: Every time I try to render my latest video the program never gets further than 13% or so before crashing.FORMAT: I’m trying to render a 1080i mp4 for Youtube, using a format that has worked fine dozens and dozens of times before.
THINGS I’VE TRIED/FACTS: I’ve tried different mp4 setting as well as rendering in different formats (.mov, .avi) and it’s the same problem each time.
I know my hardware is up to the task as this is the same task it’s been doing for almost a year. I haven’t buggered with anything, either.
I’ve uninstalled and re-installed the software. No difference.
I’ve copied and pasted the video instructions into a new file in case maybe the original became corrupted somehow? No dice.
I was able to render the first fifteen seconds as it’s own tiny video!
I tried rendering as an .mov without my Chroma Keying on (accidentally) and IT SEEMED TO WORK OKAY THEN. But of course I can’t have the video without the greenscreen removed! Still, this feels like a clue?
Anyways, what else can I say? Except a traditional HELLLLLLP!!!
P.S. If it helps, this is what I regularly am rendering:
[SUGGESTED SOLUTION FROM LAST TIME THAT WORKED]
If you’re using Vegas Pro, try dropping…your render threads to 1 and see if that helps.[AND SO]
Dropping my render threads from 4 to 1 did indeed help, even if it did dramatically lengthen rendering times from around 10 minutes to around an hour. But, of course, I can’t drop the render threads any lower!Any ideas? This is driving me crazy.
