I know this may be a very basic question but I cannot find the answer so hope someone can help…
Have a little video in vegas 8. I need to add a background music track to play throughout the video. I need the beginning and ending to be louder than the middle where I have a voice over.
Is there a way to mark a section and change the volume on just that section?
    Thank you.

Insert a “Volume Envelope” (shortcut is the V key or right-click in the Track Header area and select “Insert/Remove Envelope – Volume”) on the audio track.
Then double-click the line at 2 places at the beginning and 2 at then end of each desired segment.
Grab the line between points 2 & 3 and raise/lower as desired.
