  • Vegas 7.0d fails to start on Mac Pro / Bootcamp

Posted by Dave Mccallister on January 20, 2007 at 10:21 pm

Have been using 7.0c with no problems on Mac Pro 2.66 / 5 gigs RAM /standard internal audio.

Just installed 7.0d. Install appeared successful and normal. Program tries to start but hangs on “initializing audio engine.” Have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete and force it to end.

Obviously Sony changed some code here. Any ideas?

I had to stop Quicktime from auto-starting on my PC since 7d. (it was causing Vegas to crash every time I tried to encode to Quicktime) You might want to try that.

start> run> “msconfig” – uncheck quicktime from the start menu.

Problem solved. 7.0d runs fine on Mac Pro now. It seems it may have been hanging on a VST plugin it apparently didn’t like.
