I’m hoping for these improvements among a few others:

Major improvements in text creation FX (more customization – borders, emboss, gradient, etc.)in Veags but especially in DVDA and I would like to be able to match the text FX used on menus in DVDA to the text FX used in Vegas.

    Menu transitions in DVDA

A simple selection in DVDA that would set the highlight to move to the next event or chapter on the menu when the previous event or chapter has finished playing. Currently the highlight stays on the event that was just viewed.

    Double-click on the 1st button> Destination:Specific Menu>Destination button:2nd button

    Gary,
Thanks for the reply but what I’m talking about is the button highlight automatically advancing to the next event/chapter button on the menu, not for that next event/chapter to start playing immediately. You describe how to do this in great detail on your DVDA training DVDs which requires making an extra copy of the menu page for each event/chapter. That method requires a lot of extra work especailly if you have a lot of chapters. I would like to have a simple setting that gives me the option to choose that setting or leave it at the default.

    Thanks

When you set the End Action for the clip, you set the destination as the desired menu. You then set the “destination button” to the button you want highlighted upon return.

    Edward,
Sorry, I’m missing something here…I fully understand how to set the destination to the menu with the end action but where do I set the destination button to the button I want highlighted? I don’t see that selection option anywhere in the Media Properties.

Double click the media to open the media. Now on the properties go to the “End Action” tab. Change the “Destination” to the desired menu (NOT the “most recent” setting). Two properties below that is “Destination Button”. Change that to the button you wish to be selected.

It worked! The key was not to choose “Most Recent Menu” but the actual menu name. Thanks so much for your patience. I didn’t know DVDA had this capability. In all of the DVDA traiing DVDs I’ve watched I’ve never seen this demonstrated. Was this new in DVDA 3?
    Thanks again for your support,
    Jim

I was standing in line for food at NAB and a Sony employee was talking to his buddy. He didn’t realize I was a user. The only thing I got was that handling DXCAM footage would be in it. I specifically asked if it would be 10 bit. He said he wasn’t sure but also said he could not say. DXCAM had a lot of space at the Sony booth this year.
