vegas 7 preview playback problems
I just recently switched from vegas 6 to 7. I haven’t really been having any problems except when I attempt to use effects or multiple layers at the same time. Whenever I play back my project and i’m using effects or layers the preview is patchy/herky jerky, to the point where I can’t see what is going on. Whenever I render the projects the effects come out how they’re supposed to, but I can’t see it in the preview, which makes it extremely hard(impossible, really) to edit and tweak the effect to how i want it. I did not have this problem in 6. My computer more than meets the running requirements for 7, and I tried allocating more ram (options–>prefrences–>video tab–>dynamic ram preview max) but to no avail. any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

You’re previewing in Preview/Auto? Scaling to preview window?
Anything else running in the background such as anti-virus? using the latest build of Vegas 7?Douglas Spotted Eagle

i was going through all of your suggestions and the first one, putting it into preview/auto worked out pretty good. I didn’t even realize it was in “best” mode. I will try running it w/o my anti-virus in the background when i am not connected to the internet. Thanks for the response!
