Vegas 6.0 render quicktime problem
I have Vegas 6.0a and am having issues rendering quicktime .mov files. The format I’m rendering to is MPEG-2. I can see the .mov file on the timeline, can preview it in the vegas project, but will not render (appears black in the final MPEG-2). Any thoughts? Is there a codec I’m missing?

Did you do a custom install of Quicktime including the Authoring Tools? This is required. At this point you can simply install Quicktime again and, when asked, to a “Custom” install. Just pick everything on the list and you’ll be safe.

Are you saying that Vegas can render using Quicktime if you do a custom install of Quicktime Professional? I was under the impression that Vegas renders using a restricted subset of Quicktime options derived from the limited QT cabinet that is installed as part of the Vegas setup routine. Is there a way to render from the Vegas timeline using the full set of Quicktime Pro export options, as you can with apps like Premiere? -
I was talking about a custom install of the FREE Quicktime download.
