  • Vegas 6.0 Platinum…not responding

Hello. I am running Vegas 6.0 Platinum on a Windows 7 machine. I have been editing for months fine on this system and about a week ago…it has stopped responding.

I can open the files. See most everything in the timeline (with the exception of a few pictures for some reason), but when i go to playback…it plays for about 10 seconds, then stops. Typically the audio keeps playing, but no video. After that…no cotrols respond on the program and it is completely locked up. I have tried renderiing portions of the file, but it will not render either.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I am wondewring if this is an issue caused by using an older version of Vegas as well as Windows 7? Or possibly the file is corrupt?

    Thanks in advance.

Just maybe, running Vegas 6.0 Platinum on a Windows 7 machine
has something to do with what you are experiencing.
During the past week, have you updated windows 7 or installed
    anything new?

I have installed a new program (Crach Plan…online back-up)in the last week, but the problem did start before that. Do you think it would be worth upgrading to Vegas 10.0? Will i still be able to play my 6.0 files in 10.0…assuming they are not corrupt?

Do you think it would be worth upgrading to Vegas 10.0?

That would be good, and your Vegas 6 files can still
    be opened in Vegas 10.
However, we dont want the same problem occuring in
Vegas 10 after you go thru the upgrade…And it could be that
    the files are just corrupted.
So, what you do first is download the trial and give it a
thorough run to make sure that everything is working as
    it should.
