Hello everyone. I have been making a movie for the past year and a half and it is finally finished. I did the editing in Vegas 6 but when I make a DVD (using either DVD architect or Pinnacle Studio) there are a lot of parts where the video is blurry. It looks like there is a kind of ghost trail effect happening on movement shots while others are just fine. In Vegas, I made the video in both .AVI and .MPEG2 formats.

Is there any help I can get? I\t is scaring me that all these problems might have screwed everything up

You aren’t clear if the problem is in the AVI file and the MPG file, but it sounds like your bit rate is too high.

Which MPEG2 preset did you use?

I did not use a template. I usually try to make an .AVI file because .MPEG2 has bad quality. If you are asking about the template, I use the NTSC DV template but then I change the quality to best. What about the bitrate?

The “default” template is bad. It’s always recommended you start with one of the DVD Architect presets. You can also look at Vol 1 #7 of my newsletters for more info.
