Vegas 4.0 Doesn’t Recognize .mov Files
Hi all!
I have a question… I used Vegas 4.0 YEARS ago for my DAW recording music… made a couple of videos but I don’t think I ever used any actual video files… just photos…
I reinstalled Vegas 4.0 and got it up a running again hoping to edit some videos taken with my iPhone 3gs… I uploaded the .mov files from my iPhone to my computer’s desktop, but it won’t load into Vegas…
.avi files work, but .mov files give me the following error: “The file format plugin for the specified format was not properly initialized.”
How do I initialize it so that I may use .mov files (which it says in the manual that they are indeed compatible…)

You are using a VERY old version off Vegas, iPhone 3gs video
files wasn’t nowhere near existence when Vegas 4 was built,
Therefore that would explain the problem you are having.
If you are gonna edit today’s video format content, you seriously
need a Vegas Upgrade.Steve Rhoden
