    Greetings.

Recently my HDD broke and I had to reinstall Sony Vegas. However, now every file in MP3 format sounds like garbled audio or just muted. Before replacing the disk it worked flawlessly. The same MP3 files work correctly in any audio playback/manipulation software, however. Other formats work correctly in Vegas, but converting all files used in the project would not be preffered because there are many, and it would take time and space in disk. Is there any solution?

I’m running Vegas PRO 14 (build 270) on a Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, audio drivers are installed.

    Thank you kindly.

EDIT: I managed to find the issue – the AppData folder, which I made a backup of, was causing a codec conflict in the software, causing the incorrect MPEG codec to load. I deleted the Vegas PRO appdata folder located in Local and restored the configurations, and now it works.

[Ricardo Assad] “I’m running Vegas PRO 14 (build 270)”

Hi Ricardo, you might wish to consider installing the latest Build 361. See if that improves matters.

I might consider that later, the cost is a bit sour currently considering that I edit videos as a hobby instead of using it as a profession. Thanks for the suggestion though.

My mistake Ricardo! I meant the latest Build for your VP14. Is that build the latest?

Yes! I wasn’t expecting the issue to be there. I made a backup of everything to ensure that no data would be lost, I did not imagine that the issue would be there. Hopefully other people who comes across the same issue can try that out and fix it.
