Vegas 14 render issues, problems, crash, Vegas 13 fine
Posted by Mike Francis on January 30, 2017 at 9:54 pmI have upgraded to Vegas 14 build 211. I do long meetings and Vegas 14 is crashing all the time during render unless the project is under 1/2 hr……. Vegas 13 on the same computer is fine. So if you want to upgrade you may want to wait to see if they fix it. I have found support to bad. I have sent Magix screen shots of error messages with no one letting me know what is happening if they are fixing or because most people do not do projects that long they don’t care. Beware you have been warned once you save your veg file as 14 you can not open in 13.

January 30, 2017 at 11:01 pmJust to be clear. What is your project settings, source media type, and render as profile you are using?
What are your system specs?
I am sure it work on VP13, just would like to know what type of settings and hardware you are having trouble with.

Are you rendering to the same Hard Drive for VP14 and VP13?

January 31, 2017 at 3:35 pmYes … all is the same … even the same project …..but Vegas 14 crashes in render. Vegas 13 rocks. I guess no one renders hours of video so no fix.

I doubt that’s correct. Let’s see from others.

January 31, 2017 at 7:03 pmI hope so Graham …. I sure would like to be able to use the $500 software I purchased. And since I have been using Vegas before Sony got it. I have years invested in using Vegas…all the way back when Sonic Foundry owned it. I even became a Sony Certified editor. I flew to a course the guys from VASST did and took the Sony Factory Certified test…. I would like to continue with Vegas. Otherwise its off to something else.

January 31, 2017 at 7:51 pmSome else recently was complaining about rendering on Xeon. I wonder if there is an issue/bug there?
GPU acceleration enabled, or software only? NV cards are not great with Vegas.
Having you run your machine through clean up steps listed in other posts? Verified your memory is not overclock and 100% free of errors?

January 31, 2017 at 9:13 pmNever had a problem with Vegas 13 and the GPU slows down render for me so it is turned off.

January 31, 2017 at 11:15 pmI have a Xeon 1231 3.4 and render videos longer than 30 minutes a lot on Vegas 13 and 14. Xeon ist a perfect workhorse for me. But I use a Radeon R290.

February 1, 2017 at 2:39 pmmaybe as a test you could try to render 3 hrs of video and see if it crashes.
