Does it have any features that you want? Loudness Meters would be my reason for upgrading. If you don’t do broadcast work, then your reason may be different. As Graham suggested, download the trial and see for yourself. No need to guess. My reasons for upgrading will not be your reasons (especially since you never upgraded from 6 until 12 came out)

Overall I’ve been very happy with Vegas Pro 13.0. It’s very stable.

Also, it can run 4k footage from a GH4 well, and I plan on buying one of those.

I have had pretty decent results….For some reason nesting a credit roll in a project caused constant crashes for me. Other than that WAY more stable than 12. Renders slower than 12 for me to MPEG 2’s than 12 with same exact project and same exact render format.
Being stable is a must for updating…

Since I moved my windows machine is still packed, that’s why I did not consider that option.

If you’re doing the upgrade, it’s only a $25 difference or so. I bought Pro 13 (with NewBlue plugins and DVD Architect), even though I originally intended to just get Edit.

So far it’s worked great. I want to see how it performs with Cineform and getting footage between that and DaVinci Resolve (once I learn that). The only downside is render time does seem a little bit slower than Vegas 11.

That’s a pretty easy decision. You want PRO so that you get the plug-in collections from FXHOME, NewBlueFX, and iZotope®. The different in price is only $25 USD as Angelo said. iZotope Nectar Elements alone is a $99 plug-in. I use it on all of my Boris TV episodes to enhance my Voice Over. It’s an awesome audio plug-in well worth $25. That doesn’t include the FXHOME plug-ins and NewBlueFX Titler. I assume you already have DVD Architect 6.0 but that’s included too all for $25.
