    Hello,
I’ve been away from the list for some time and haven’t kept up on what’s happening. I’ve been using Pro 10 for some time, although not lately. I previously purchased Pro 12, but have not installed it yet. Question: Is 12 stable if I move to it and leave my solid 10 behind? Should it be installed along side 10 or replace it? Will my Pro 10 files open in 12?

you can install the two side by side – there will be no problem – I have 10 and 12 on the same machine.

12 will open 10 no problem, however if you have any third-party fx installed in 10 you will need to install them in 12 as well.

Be careful saving however- if you save a 10 project in 12 you will not be able to open it in 10 any more.

Vegas 12 is quite stable and you can safely migrate without
any harm done to your already saved projects.

[Steve Rhoden] “Vegas 12 is quite stable and you can safely migrate without

That said, always “Save as” and save a new version of your project if you upgrade so you can always go back to the one that you know worked on 10. It’s a little effort that may not be necessary, but it will save you a lot of problems.
