vegas 11 text position keyframe with video
Posted by Neal Tate on May 7, 2012 at 3:01 amIn Vegas 11 I can’t see video frame by frame that I’m trying to keyframe text to. It is kind of hard to word what I’m trying to say, but basically I’m trying to animate text with a video specifically but there is no video preview to follow. If you need a better explanation of what I’m saying I will try to describe it better.

May 7, 2012 at 4:50 pmVegas displays everything you are doing in the Preview window. I don’t understand why you’re not seeing your changes in the preview. If you’re using Pan/Crop to move text, you won’t see the video in the Pan/Crop window but you should be able to see it in the master Preview window and use that to position it.

May 7, 2012 at 8:30 pmYeah, that’s why I don’t understand this issue, it works fine in Vegas 10. I have tried everything. I think the issue is in the pan/crop windows timeline. When I try to right click the timeline in that box to to bring up the drop down menu, vegas crashes every time, and I’m thinking that is where I need to get to in order to apply the real time view setting so I can see the text animate with the video.

May 7, 2012 at 9:46 pmI know creativecow says not to respond to your own post I think.
But I think I figured out the problem, yet my Vegas 11 crashes during the attempt.
I went and looked at right clicked menu on pan/crop timeline in vegas 10 and found that “Time & Frames” was selected.
In Vegas 11 I can see that on of the “SMPTE” options are selected right before it crashes.Does anybody know another wat to set the “Time & Frames” option without having to right click to pan/crop timeline?

There is a button in the pan/crop window that has a Cursor with a Lock next to it called “Sync Cursor”

May 9, 2012 at 6:07 amHeh … Neal, if Cow does not like self-responding then I am in big trouble!
At the risk of violating Cow standards, I say “self-respond” when you have something to offer … as in this case, you solved your problem, and at the same time I learned something!
I am wondering about something forum-related … what causes the “Solution” green check mark to appear? Did you put that there?

I believe the original poster is allowed to add the check mark to the response that actually solved the problem. This allows you to view a long thread and quickly see which post is the solution. They should not check their own response unless it is the solution (i.e., they solved it themselves)

May 14, 2012 at 3:33 amHmmm..
On my “Events Kiss, Fades Die” thread, I gave Paul Belter that green check for his excellent tip on the hidden internal tab in Preferences. But, when I look at the thread, I don’t see the “solution provided” green check by his post.
