[Rick Altizer] “Before it will let me end the 2nd process, I have to close out the “Vegas has stopeed working” window.”

That should not affect the Resource Monitor.

[Rick Altizer] ” I couldn’t hear anything because there was no sound in safe mode.”

Device Drivers. Most likely the video card.

Steve, UM, I am only relaying what SCS advised me to do for an issue of mine that relates very close if not the same to the problem Rick is having. My specs are the same as his. Here is the last reply from customer service.

    Hi Michael,

Thank you for contacting Sony Creative Software.

I apologize for the lengthy response time to your technical support inquiry. We have been experiencing an increase in support demands from new product launches and we have fallen a bit behind on service requests. We have been working diligently to answer as many emails as possible in the order that they were received. I hope you understand and sincerely appreciate your patience.

It has only been recently that we have discovered the answer to this issue. If this issue does arise in the future, I assure you that the fix that I provided will resolve the issue. Again, many apologies for the delayed response. Happy editing!

If you still have a follow-up question on this particular incident, please feel free to update it. If you have a completely different question, please create a new incident.

    Mike,
THAT WORKED!!! Thank you so much.
The old “Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache 3.0.0.0.” ploy. I should have known!! Of COURSE that was it.

Seriously, thanks so much. I’m back to work thanks to you. 🙂

    OF COURSE…LOL .

I am happy to hear that Rick, but the thanks goes to the techs at SCS for finding the fix to a perplexing problem. I am just the messenger. I would have liked to have had that answer some time ago, but I am glad they got to the bottom of it for all who might encounter it in the future. Glad I could help.

[Stephen Mann] “[Mike Hinkel] ” … or the circle Windows flag on the bottom left hand corner … ”

Um, that was in Windows XP.”

The circle windows flag is Windows 7, the Start button was Windows XP…
