vegas 11 – creative opening
Posted by John O flaherty on March 31, 2017 at 9:30 amHi guys, I have a short 15 second opening of some conference that I would like to do something creative with using some of the conference footage, any ideas how I can make some of the conference shots look creative, di try a few things but all looks bland and predictable.

March 31, 2017 at 12:04 pmI love doing this type of stuff…..
In this situ, Y’know what’s more important than “A” roll – “B” roll. You got any?
OK, any stats, figures, graphs, flash lights, mic stands, smiling faces, music, giggles, laughter?
The intro is a kind of scene setter. Anyway you can contrive a “hook” that will suggest what’s is going to be said. Any outstanding vocalised statements you can put into deep echo?
15 seconds is truly heaps. Lots and lots to do.

March 31, 2017 at 1:41 pmHi graham, tks for response, I have actually edited the 15 sec and am happy with it, was more thinking is there any combination of filters I can apply to give it that creative/artistic look? (hope that makes sense) appreciate the help.

April 4, 2017 at 12:23 pmsorry for delay graham, and thanks for help, was hoping with your experience you might be able to recommend a combination of filters that might give the opening a good look! but maybe I just need to try difference types, thanks graham.

April 4, 2017 at 12:44 pmWell, look at your favourite – and not so favourite – openings and truly analyse them, it’s what I do. Also turn of the Audio and then ONLY listen to the Audio. Build drama, pathos, humour and SIT-UPness through the FXing.
And the Golden Rule?! – LESS is most definitely MORE.
