I’m running Vegas 11.0 on Win 7-64. We have 12G of RAM, 2T RAID disk, and a single i7 processor at 2.6GHz. RAM preview buffer reservation set low, and Vegas happily uses at least 7G during renders.

I experienced several crashes during editing – I’d hit the space bar to play a segment and crash! So now I’m manually saving every minute or so. The 5 minute default save interval is too wide for me – should be configurable.

Worst was the crash during rendering about 2 hours in to a 4.5 hour render. I was able to break the project into smaller chunks and got through it, but it set me back a day.

Anybody seen these problems with 11? When I dug in to the bugs they appeared to be “unhandled exceptions” – clearly incomplete software.

Any word from Sony on when a fix is coming? I must have sent a dozen bug reports; I hope they are not falling on deaf ears.

Auto save is configurable: hold down the shift key while opening the options|preferences dialog. There will be a new tab called internal. In the box at the bottom enter AutoSave. Change the value to a shorter interval like 90,000. (1000 = 1 second).

Be very careful in the internal settings!
