I’ve run into a problem that’s driving me a bit batty trying to figure out. The edges of the last letters or the descenders of letters like ‘g’ or ‘y’ are getting a pixel or two shaved off inexplicably. I’ll post a couple of screenshots to illustrate the issue better.

Here, you can see the letters having issues. And at first the ‘e’ at the end was also being affected, but I managed to save it by adding some spaces at the end of the line. I tried adding a couple of blank lines below to try to save these letters, but that didn’t work.

And what’s weird is if I scrub through the animation, the letters appear fine as they first animate into the scene.

And then as I scrub a few frames ahead, the end is cut off.

When I select the text box, the ‘selection area’ in purple seems to be what defines the point where letters are being trimmed.

Anyone else experience this? I’m far from a Pro Titler expert and have gone through just about every setting and fiddled with them to see what might happen and have come up with no solution

You’re really on the edge of the Graphic/Text Safe Area. I’d be lifting the text clear of that area to give me wiggle room. As to the motion-in being visible and THEN polemic the tails this could be a Vegas refresh of the screen abberation showing a False positive, UNTIL the frames settle down.

The other thing could be that the PTT text box maybe too short? Have you adjusted the Text box size?

    So 2 items to checkout:

    1] Safe Area

    2] Text Box size

    Thanks for the reply!

Whoops, forgot to mention it’s not a safe area issue, I thought of that and moved the text around but it didn’t help. This is a going to be a YouTube video, so the safe area is irrelevant in this case as well.

How would I change the size of the text box? As I say, I’m not a ProType expert…the only manner of changing the text box I see is when you are in ‘text block edit mode’, the box has handles on the corner you can manipulate, but that changes the size and shape of the text as well. Which means I have the same problem, just with bigger or smaller text.

I was able to repro this by using the Stroke feature. Did you use Stroke?

Anyways I can’t repro it now, but I plainly saw your issue. Try removing the Stroke and replacing.

I also tried Track Motion too. I must have shaken something loose, ‘cos it works again now!

Thanks, yeah, I am using a stroke…that just might be the culprit. How did you ‘remove’ the stroke and were able to fix the issue? Since it doesn’t have a simple check box to turn on or off. Lower the opacity, lower the stroke width?

I’m not having much luck yet.

Anyone possibly come up with any as how to solve this by chance? The project I was working on originally, I settled for changing my text and got rid of the stroke, but now I’m working on something else and the problem has popped up again. And this time, without a stroke so I can’t simply(still an annoyance for features not to work) remove that effect and be good. I have no idea what’s causing it. Very frustrating.

Thought I might bump this up one more time and see if any folks with solutions might run across this problem.

I’ve grown used to just being really plain and not too creative with text in Pro Titler because of this ridiculous issue. But now I’m working on a text heavy project and all I’m being so crazy as to use is Times New Roman and it’s cutting off the serifs. No strokes. I’m trying to use a drop shadow but on or off, the problem is still there.

This is absolutely maddening, does anyone have any idea what might be going on?
