January 10, 2011 at 3:44 pmYou need to got into “preferences” and under the video tab,
uncheck “use external video capture application”

January 10, 2011 at 5:36 pmPut a shortcut to C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 10.0\VidCap60.EXE on your desktop.
No need to launch Vegas to do a simple DV capture unless you really need to. -

January 10, 2011 at 6:31 pmI tried to run that file from it’s folder and I get an error…weird. Also, if I use WinDV, does it split the files at the takes (when camera is stopped) as in Vegas?
Thanks guys!Scott Francis

January 10, 2011 at 7:16 pmYes you can set it to capture split scenes or one whole capture
if you like…and it will never drop frames during capture. But still puzzled why your Sony capture utility is fuzzing out.
