Vegas 10 freezes when trying to load
Hey All,
Im trying to edit some footage using sony veags pro 10,
but whenever I try to import some video clips it freezes.
the files are mp4 files that I have exported from vegas but now I cant read it.Iv had a quick look online but I cant find any solution to my problem
Does anyone know whats happening and how I can fix it?

Could you read them before? Vegas can export many more formats than it can import. While it shouldn’t have a problem with MP4 files, MP4 is better used as a delivery format than an editing format.
How did you export these MP4 files? What render format and template did you use?
Can you play them in a media player to make sure that they are not corrupt?

I used a template i got off the internet that someone recomended.
I tried it out and found it gave good quality videos at a low MB size, perfect for youtube.
attached are my render settings.
iv managed to play the videos fine, and even upload them to youtube.**I just tried to take the screen shot of my render settings and Vegas just fully froze on me.
Might be a different problem then? -

Yea, it sounds like something else is going on. I would scan for viruses and malware (you never known when you’re gonna click on a link and get some nasty malware) and also check that you have the latest display drivers (since a screen capture caused a freeze).

I’v just found out that the reason it froze when taking the screenshot was because it was trying to load the project with the files in.
So Im bak to the problem of these mp4 files freezing vegas.
