    Hi,

I’m during making my first cartoon animation and get some problem. I’ll try to explain as simply as possible.

So there is a MAIN comp containing few other comps (let’s call them SUBS) and one camera. There is a character inside one of these subs, so all body parts shape layers and rigging controllers based on Duik tool (all 2d). In the main comp I marked this one comp as 3d.
Now, when I dolly-in the camera very close to character, it’s edges become blurry. I tried random combinations, and did find that if make those shape layers also 3d (in sub comp), it resolves problem; now all edges are clear.
But I suppose this is not the best solution – probably more calculation for pc, also about rigging? (am not sure, just want to avoid possible future problems with ongoing project).

Is there any better way to do it?

Nope. If switched on, the comp behaves like 2d layer, doesnt react to camera’s movement (3d layer option is marked on, of course).

If you collapse transformations you will have to make the layers in the nested comes 3D layers too so they react to the 3D camera. try this in all nested comes, it may work.

    cheers,
