Hi Bryant,

Invigorator works with closed paths or outlined strokes. Make also sure that your artwork has a stroke and or a fill color at least.

Also when you save your ai file you need to make sure that the box for the Compression feature is not checked and in case you are using CS3 save rather to a CS2 or older version.

So you’re saying I need to go into Photoshop and give my image a stroke, as in, the one in the Blending Options tab? The only other outline I can think of is actually using something like Photoshop’s magnetic lasso tool to trace the outline of each element, but I don’t know if those would stay when I exported the image for Illustrator.

I have absolutely no experience with paths, so creating a closed path is foreign to me. I’ll get this one day!

I didn’t say that & you didn’t say either that you are using Photoshop.
I thought you would be using Illustrator. Aren’t you?

Thanks for the links. I will give them a thorough look-through tomorrow and let you know how everything goes. They seemed to help other people, and this thread is exactly my problem.

I suppose I assumed I had to use photoshop when you used the word “stroke”. But, I will watch the videos and see if I can’t figure it out on my own.

This link definitely helped me. I saved with no compression as an Illustrator 3 file and that seemed to work (saving as Illustrator CS3 with no compression still gave me the same “no vector paths” error message)

But this import only works on a very basic level. I can import my graphic, but the letters I have layered on top of it show up as holes when imported.

My graphic looks like this… except without the text on the left side, it’s just the logo. Also, instead of black brackets, the ones I have are white.

The the N, W, and the “pipe” separating the two show up as holes, while my white brackets on the side are flat with the red rectangle. How can i get all of these elements to stick out in front of the red rectangle? The only solution I can think of is to import all of these elements separately and then position them accordingly… seems like there would be a much easier way, though.
