    At one point, I took a After Effects training course way back when, and I was shown how to draw something in Vector Paint that I then animated, that was able to ignore any pauses I made during the actual drawing. So if I was halfway through what I wanted to draw and decided I wanted to think for a second on how to change course, it managed to ignore that pause when animated and go right to where I moved to next.

    Does anyone know how to do that?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Use the VP Comp window flyout menu or Context click in the comp window and set “Shift-Paint Records” to “Continuous”. (and hold down the shift key while painting)

    Playback Mode -> Animate Strokes

    I wish I could supply more information so you could help me, but I did exactly what you described… and felt that was how I did it previously too so had tried it even before getting your info…. and still it pauses at all the places i pause. i’ve made a point to have shift down before i begin painting through when i finish and everything. i wondered if maybe because i am using a tablet that that is causing a problem, but i turned off the stylus settings too and nothin’.

    baffling.

    any ideas?

    Did you change the playback speed from the default value?
    That could cause a pause between each stroke.

    I’m not sure exactly what you mean…. The playback speed is by default 1.00.

    If I am supposed to change it, what do I change it to? If I raise or lower it, it just goes faster or slower, still pausing at the places I paused during drawing so that isn’t a help…

    No I meant that changing the playback speed could cause problems with continuous recordings.
    I can’t reproduce and I can’t figure out what might cause this.
    If you want, you can send me a project with continuous recorded strokes which shows this problem and I’ll have a look.
