May 30, 2005 at 2:03 pmThat’s true. It’s always going to be cheeper to use SVCD – however, DVD’s are almost universally compaticle.
Giving people the option to choose is always a good idea – unless they don’t know what they’re doing, when it comes to technology. Then it just spells toruble and more expense for you…

May 31, 2005 at 1:05 amHi Aharon,
I’m Jaz’s colleague. Would like to check with you about some tools in AE.
How do I make a flip over motion from bottom layer to upper layer? Do I have to apply effect on it or can I manually do it myself by using rotation/position/scale?
Hope you could assist and advise.
Thanks so much.
Cheers,
Kim -

May 31, 2005 at 2:06 amSince this is a completely different subject, in the future, it’s best to start a new string here at the forum – Not becasue it’s a rule, but becasue it helps the AE leaders (I’m not one of them) see the new question and give you advice.
But the fast answer is – there are 2 good ways to do this that I can think of (and a whole bunch of bad ones).
1) Make the layer 3D (activate the layer’s 3D switch, that looks like a cube) and rotate it on it’s X-Axis.
If you want something else on the other side – you’ll need 2 seperate layers – Parent the second 3D layer to the first. Rotae the first layer 180 degrees – When the first layer gets to 90 (or is it -90) degrees (where you can’t see it because it’s perfectly flat), make the first layer disappear and the second layer appear. It will look like one continuous rotation.
2) You could also set up 2 layers back to back in 3D (one should be at Z position = 0.01, the other at Z position = -0.01), parent 1 to the other, and then rotate. This is probably a lot easier. You may have to add a little more to the Z position values (like 0.1 instead 0.01) for this to look right.
Like I said, there are other ways to do this, but that’s how i would do it.
