Hey guys, Ive got a couple of problems when I try to render some clips from Vegas 6.0b. First, the project im doing is a wedding. When I try to render the ceremony portion(which is about 25 mins. long) it never makes it all the way through before an error occurs. Ive had similiar problems with this in the past saying that I was low on memory, and through the expert advice of the members of this board, I used certain workarounds and was able to complete my projects. I dont believe I am having the same problems here. I have pre-rendered the entire clip to avi. Now that I have done that, every time I try to render it to a single avi clip, it starts to render extremely slow, and fails about halfway thru. I figured it would take only a few seconds, since all it SHOULD be doing is assembling a bunch of tiny prerendered avi’s. Ive checked all of my settings, and they are the same as the settings I used for the prerenders. Im pulling my hair out! This board has always there with golden advice for my problems in the past and it has always been greatly appreciated! Anything that any of you guys can offer me on this situation will also be greatly appreciated! My second problem, which I hope is a minor oversight, is before the problems in situation one started started happening, whnever I would render out to mpeg, I would get no audio. I checked the settings and audio is set to be included in the render. Once again, I am dumbfounded. Please help the stupid nOOb(who has been a vegas vet for 5 years;))

    thanks,

    -burk

The only time I have had problems of ‘Errors’ during rendering were…

    1) Low virtual memory (Norton Ghost started a backup during render). Actually hung, no error message.
My trusty EndItAll program seemed to have failed me:(

    2) Low disk space. This has been a culprit several times when I haven’t been paying attention.

I have also experienced behaviour in version 6 versus 4 when running multiple sessions of vegas and performing a handfull of renders over the course of several hours that the system would get slow and exhibit classic signs on a memory leak. Rebooting has always resolved this pesky and fairly persistant problem with my workflow.

    Good Luck

Added Norton Ghost to kill list solving several performance issues!
