    Hi,

I was tweaking around with FCP when I found out that there are various compressor options in sequence settings. These same are also available in audio video settings presets.

If I am not mistaken, this compressor means the ‘CODEC’ used in the video files.

If I am right, then why are there numerous options as XXXXi60, XXXXi50,XXXXp25,XXXXp24 and so on.

My basic understanding of the codec is that they are independent of frame rate and usually can be forced to any frame rate.

This has created a lot of confusion in my mind. Can’t find anyhting on net that will explain this.

I would Google first to find out what 720/60, 720/50, 720/30, etc.. represent.

A start would would be adamwilt.com. Wikipedia too.
