    Hi,

I am shooting in Europe with magnetic HMI ballasts at 24fps. I am fine at 172.8 shutter, but when I try to hit 50hz safe angles like 80.4 I am stuck because the increments on syncroscan shutter are in .5 degree increments. I had managed to switch the sychroscan to fractions, and was able to hit shutter speeds that worked then, but now I can not for the life of me replicate what menu settings I used to get there.

Also, since I can do 172.8 it would seem I should be able to dial in syncro scans speeds in 1/10th of degree increments. I will play with it over the weekend, I suspect that I am just brain fried from work and missing the obvious. If anyone knows the exact procedure, please share.

    Thanks for the help,

Nick “Just finished day 6 of 104” Gardner

In order to change shutter speeds from degrees to fractions of a second on the Vari-Cam you have to be in the Video Rec Mode. Film Mode displays as degrees.

    Hi,

Actually, I figured it out.In the VF display menu, you can pick whether you want syncro scan in degrees, %, or fractions of a second.

    Thanks,

    Nick
