I’m soon to start a project shooting in Europe which has chosen to shoot Varicam at 24p and needless to say all the post needs to be PAL. Anyone know of any mantraps in the editing workflow? I know you have to load into the Avid “on the fly” rather than logging first, that a clip has to be reloaded for it’s full length if a consolidated version needs to be redigitised. But are there OMFI sound problems? I have yet to get the Avid to work in PAL 25p at all, I’ve always just fooled it by loading it as if pal 25i. I must be missing something there. Final question when shooting under cranked e.g. 4fps does the exposure extend to match that of a film camera i.e. long motion blurs etc.?

    Thanks for any help.

The silence is deafening. A bit of a worry really.
