I use expressions with After Effects and so I’m trying (perhaps wrongly) to do the things the same way in C4D.

I can’t work out how to set up Xpresso to return a value for an object’s position at an earlier or later time. I want to create a chain of objects following each others’ positions.

I tried to do it with a cloner and splines but this gives me trouble when I want to affect other properties of the separate objects, like opacity or scale.

Thanks a lot for any help.

    John

What you’re looking for is the Xpresso Memory Node.

    Thanks so much Adam,

That pointed me in the right direction. This tutorial and the one following explain it all really well:
