It has to be something dumb, but I can’t Vector paint. I add the effect, but the little composition window tool pallet does not pop up, and the arrow does not turn to the circle brush. I’ve cycled thru all of the available windows, but nada. Can anyone help me out? Thanks,

You’re looking at the comp window, right?

Paint does not bring up the windows you mentionned, vector paint usually does….I am only asking to make sure that you are applying vector paint and not the regular paint. Please do not think that this question is being ignorant towards you, it really is not my intention 🙂

When you apply vector paint to a layer, the vector paint pallettes come up on the left of the comp window. If they do not (not sure why they wouldn’t), try clicking on the layer in the timeline, hitting F3, then clicking on the vector paint header in the effects control window.

If this does not work, have you tried deleting your preferences ? When something is not working right for me, this is usually the fix.

    Hope this helps

No offence taken… it is usually the dumb little things that hang me up!
I am adding the Vector Paint efffect. The paint tools have always in the past popped up in the left top corner of the comp window. They are missing in action now. I will try blowing out my prefs. Thanks,

    O.K. Figured it out!
In the top right of the Comp window is a drop down menu. From there I went to View options. From there the Effect controls box was not checked. I new it was something dumb! Thanks to all those who offered help.
