V8 undetermined error
Hi,
I have a 6 minute HDV 1080 60i project I’m trying to render out as the same.
It gets to 22% and gives the “an error occurred while creating the media file….the reason for the error could not be determined” error or crashes V8 and closes.
I did “selectively prerender” sections around 20% and the problem seems to be where I have some track motion on some generated text under a 3519x3521x32 PNG with a transparent alpha channel.
Anyone see a red flag I’m missing here?
If I mute the generated text track with track motion it doesn’t give the error but it also doesn’t display the bluish gray bar above the timeline showing it’s been prerendered like everywhere else.
I’d appreciate your suggestions.

EDIT: I just tried again with the track motion text unmuted and it just quit at 55% of the selection…I hit cancel, it showed “cancelled by user” but after 15 minutes of the dialogue not going away I had to kill the whole app with task manager. -

Anyone see a red flag I’m missing here?The red flag would be the 3519×3521 PNG which is 12 Mega-pixels! HD is only 2 mega-pixels so you have 6x more resolution than you need. Try to cut the resolution of that file down to just what you need and see if it helps.

It’s good to know about the extra resolution I don’t need but it rendered fine after muting the track motion text (but not when muting the .png).
That said, someone at another forum suggested the memory workaround (getting > 2GB)which made me think I should try the 64 bit 8.1 version again (had trouble with it a while back).
Lo and behold it renders the project without muting anything and renders much faster… however some of my audio is gone now.
I tried rebuild peaks but there is no audio in some sections for some reason.
Any suggestions there?

Vegas Pro 8.1 has it’s own set of problems. If you really need the 64-bit version, (and it sounds like you do) my only suggestion is to upgrade to the latest version of Vegas Pro 9.0e.
