This one..just copy the nodes, ignore the setting as it doesnt work.
I will make a new file whith version one day.
For now, please copy the nodes and let us know when it starts dropping frames
    Thank you 🙂

rodrigo tonight I will do a fresh install, with the gtx 460.

and tell you how it goes, did you see this ? https://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=22882
    try installing iopcifamily.

by the way, the decklink sdi is working ok for you ?
do you know if the “intensity pro” can work ?

I confirm render problem with V8 on both 12 cores MacPro with 10.6.8 and 10.7, rendered frames DPX or quicktime have frames with colored lines, random, never the same, looks like a GPU problem… CUDA updated… GPU’s are GTX 285 on both machines, 10.6.8 with 3 GPU, 10.7 with 4 GPU.

Are you using the ApplegraphicsPowerManagement.kext? It was probably re-installed with the update. try removing it.

I assume you’re booting with the non-480 card as the primary display?

Also are you running to the DVI port closest to the motherboard?

Also are you definitely getting OpenCl accelleration? (Is your top menu bar translucent?)

How are you initializing the cards? EFI? enabler kext? (If so which one?) I’d switch to an EFI string in your boot.plist.

Also I believe your P6 deluxe will behave different than the p6t7 when using EFI strings, as the extra n100 chip for the extra x16 slots complicates your pci bus paths. Make sure you’re not trying to run the same thing for both systems.

All in all, these are the reasons I don’t run hackintoshes anymore. Even with the 470 on a 2011 mac pro, I still have that nagging doubt in the back of my head when something goes wrong. Not worth the stress anymore.

When I enable the DeckLink SDI my playback is clearly slowed down. I’m only doing test projects with clients who don’t care about playback speeds so I can work with it.
With 10.6.8 + V8 it flashes during playback, that’s really something I couldn’t do with for grading, but I’m not sure if the issue is related to the DeckLink SDI or to my GPU.
Also, it adds a general unstability to the system, it crashes often during playback (Resolve freezes, need to force close it). But again, this is a completely-away-from-recommended-specs system. I don’t know how it’d work in a MacPro with all the other required components.
I don’t know about the Intensity. At work we have a Multibridge. I installed Resolve there and noticed a lack of contrast in the image.

    Rodrigo.

Thanks for all the answers and sorry for the delay. I was away from home and will be busy these days too.

I restored from the backup and did a cleaner 10.6.8 upgrade. It behaved better (but no NR yet) for the first minutes but then showed the GPU error again.

[Blase Theodore] “Are you using the ApplegraphicsPowerManagement.kext? It was probably re-installed with the update. try removing it.”
I didn’t remove it but I got good performance with other software using the graphics card and benchmarks.

[Blase Theodore] “I assume you’re booting with the non-480 card as the primary display?”
I only have the GTX480. No dual graphics card. Do you think this could be the issue? This was the same setup for V7 and I haven’t seen those errors before.

[Blase Theodore] “Also are you definitely getting OpenCl accelleration? (Is your top menu bar translucent?)”
I am definitely getting OpenCL and CUDA, already ran benchmarks.

[Blase Theodore] “How are you initializing the cards? EFI? enabler kext? (If so which one?) I’d switch to an EFI string in your boot.plist.”
Not using EFI string nor any special kext. Using GraphicsEnabler on com.apple.boot.plist (that’s EFI, right?).

We are going with the Hackintosh first and then get a decent MacPro in the future, but we’re still deciding other things.

    Thanks,
    Rodrigo

My suspicion is that you’re only using the 1 card.
The memory gets filled up running the UI and splitting the instuctions against the cuda based processing. I get that error message on some projects with my 470 when I load large tiffs into the timeline.

First make sure youve installed the packages in the 10.6.8 package above, then try running with a 2nd card.
You will probably need to build an efi string instead of graphicsenabler to do that though.

Hi All, this is evident when the application can’t find a Resolve dongle regardless of platform or drivers. If you reload the official release software and insert the dongle and still see the problem please send your logs to davincihelp@blackmagic-design.com, the guys there can guide you to a resolution.
    Thanks, Peter

    Rodrigo,
could you please render a part of that “flashing project” ? just as a test and check the result file to see how the flashing frame reacts when render …
    thank you
