v5.0 driver and G5 issue
I have two systems running Kona SD cards. One in a G4 and the other in a G5. The G4 runs flawlessly with the new v5.0 driver. The G5 doesn’t play smoothly on the NTSC monitor in 10bit video out. It also doesn’t play smoothly during edit to tape. It seems to work ok in 8bit but only for monitoring not in edit to tape. I have reloaded the driver several times and have also reinstalled FCP twice but can not get the G5 to run as smoothly as the G4. Is the driver not loading correctly? Is there any known driver conflict with ATTO’s UL4D driver or the Softraid driver? These are the only components that differ from the G4 setup. The G4 is running on an Xserve Raid. I have tried swapping the cards and both cards run great in the G4 but the G5 is still choking, Any help or guidance with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

sorry can’t help much except to say that we have the UD4D card in a G5 dual 2 and it seems to be working well. We are using it with a Media drive.

Thanks Jason, My UL4D card is working great too. The post is really about an issue I am having with the BMD v5.0 driver in my G5.

yeah cool. You had asked if there was a known conflict with the UL4d driver and decklink… not that we have experienced … so i thought it might be helpful to mention that.
