V3HD released
I’m surprised not to see a press release or other notice here on the COW. I received an email from MOTU this morning announcing their V3HD product is now shipping. B&H and Promax both have it listed on their websites. $2890 at Promax, 2949 at B&H.
No change at the V3HD.com website, no manual available online yet that I can find, and the only hardware spec I have found is:
“provides HD and SD capture and playback for any current-generation FireWire equipped computer, including Mac & PC laptops”
That doesn’t sound good for my G4 Powerbook, but if the box is sending DVCPro HD or DVCPro 25 and 50, I don’t see why not….. except maybe it has to do with the 32 channels of audio the box supports.
I’d LOVE to hear from anyone who’s played with one.

Thanks Paul, I had read that. The Promax site actually has a few more operational details if you’re interested. The page linked on that thread lists what’s been on the V3HD website for awhile now.
