  • V12 copy/paste with “Color Curves” not working

Posted by Jim Greene on December 7, 2012 at 1:31 pm

I thought it was just my setup or maybe was random, but the paste of the settings within the “Color Curves” attribute does not work. Here is the scenario:

1- Open two instances of V12.

2- In one instance of V12, place an event (even a “Generated Media” will do), then add “Color Curves” and make some changes to this effect.

3- Copy this event and paste it into the other instance of V12.

4- Note that the Color Curves effect will be set with its default settings, not the settings that were copied in the other instance.

This problem occurs whether you copy the entire event or just copy/paste the attributes only, and it doesn’t matter if there are other effects in the chain. It does work as it should when pasting within the same instance of Vegas, just not into a separate instance.

This not only has worked in every other version, it’s crucial to the way I work. Can others please verify that this problem exists in their system? I’ve tried it on two of mine and they both exhibit this problem. Thanks.

Jim, I can reproduce this problem.
I recommend reporting this to Sony so that they can fix it ASAP.

Interesting. I have reported a similar issue through Vasst that was affecting Ultimate S in Quadcam. In my case, the first event applied the color curves correctly on the Master video track, but events thereafter had color curves, but set back to default.

Just reproed this one and I’ll report this to SONY too.

P.E.A. to another instance of alternative FX, say BumpMap, and the Preset comes along nicely.

Clearly, this Colour Curve behaviour I would class as “Unexpected Behaviour

It is CLEARLY working as expected in VP11 and would suggest that this is a previously acknowledged, purposeful and valued User requirement.

    So, to recap:

1/- BAD: No Paste Event Attribute of Colour Curve Preset between Instances of VP12 B394.

2/- GOOD: Successful with another FX – Bump Map – between instances of VP12 B394

3/- CONTROL USED: Success using VP11 Paste Event Attributes of Colour Curves Preset between instances of VP11 works as expected.

    Grazie

    Hi !
I get the same problem and if this solution can help you and other poeple i will happy.

Simply, click on the button “Animate” on the color curve effect’s board. No need to create key on the time line.

Then, all copy of the rush or simple cut in the rush will working well.

this bug is fixed by this solution.

    regards,

    alex kosmakis.
