I’ve customized the C4D interface by adding a “UV Polygons” icon to the startup layout, so I don’t have to change to the BP UV Edit layout every time I need to select UV polygons. The problem is, when I start C4D and open a file, the UV Polygons icon that I’ve added to the startup layout is grayed out. But when I switch to the BP UV Edit layout, then back to the startup layout, it mysteriously becomes active. Is this a bug? Is there a way to somehow “activate” the UV tools without having to enter the BP UV Edit layout?

It seems that you have to have a Texture View window open in order to activate the UV Poly tool, at least initially. You could create a layout with a tabbed Texture window if you wanted.
