Using XDCAM HD Proxy files as offline proxy in CatDV
I have successfully imported a disc into my catalog, but I’d like to pull off the proxy files from the disc and link them as a preview.
Is the only way to do this through XDCAM Transfer and save the proxy, then have it in the directory that CatDV looks for previews?
I don’t want CatDV to build new proxy movies…as they already exist.

Hey man, been out on vacation (yes!) and just saw this.
CatDV can link to the proxy video and use the hi res audio by default, but I don’t like to do it because you have to have the XDCAM codecs loaded to use the proxy.
I tend to just make proxy so that anyone can view them, but in 9, if you want to link to the XDCAM proxy, there’s a setting and I’ve used it.
