Using video of different formats
Hello everybody.
I’m editing a film together from two different video sources. I’ll list their info at the bottom of this post. My question is: what’s the best way to combine these two formats? Ideally I’d like the film to be 24p and in 4:3. What’s the best way to confirm both of these video sources to a format similar to that?
Source 1:
This is a transfer of Super 8 footage. I shot the footage at 18fps but when I had it transferred to digital, the file I got back was in the following format with black bars on each side of the screen.Framerate: 29.97
Framesize: 1920 x 1080
Compressor: Apple OpenDML JPEG
Pixel Aspect: Square
Field Dominance: Upper (Odd)
Datarate: 8.8 MB/secSource 2:
This I shot on mini-DV using a XH-A1 set to SD 4:3 mode 24pFramerate: 23.98
Framesize: 720 x 480
Compressor: DV/DVCPRO – NTSC
Pixel Aspect: NTSC – CCIR 601
Field Dominance: None
Datarate: 2.9 MB/secI can give the capture settings for Source 2 if needed but I don’t see why it would be. So yeah, what’s the best way to confirm these two clips? Thank you a bunch in advance this project is super important to me
