    I have some very old projects that I need to reopen and the media was once all in a single folder on a single drive. The media is now spread across several camera magazine volumes. I want to relink the media but don’t have an easy way to do this. Is it possible to use symbolic links / soft links with DaVinci so I can batch create links to the media in a single folder and use ‘replace parent directory’ to reconnect the files? Or am I better off just brining all the clips into a new project and using colour trace and reconforming the timeline?

    Any ideas?

    It’s for TB’s of Red media.

    For anyone else having a problem of this sort here are my findings;

    -DaVinci can read symbolic links as if the media was there.
    -DaVinci can’t read alias links.
    -There is an Automator script called ‘Create Symbolic Link’ in ‘Junecloud Automator Actions’ that can be used to create sym links for files or folders in conjunction with other actions in Automator.
    -With some bash scripting you can also later change these sym links to complete files.

    Could be handy for future conforms!
