I was experimenting with importing .swf files into Ae and was wondering, is there a good way to use this method to bring in symbols that aren’t animated at all? I have a lot of existing symbols in Flash projects I may want to use in After Effects, and it would be the quickest way to bring them in.

I was thinking I’d just put a single symbol on the stage for one frame then generate an swf, then import that into Ae. I’m just wondering if this is an inefficient way of doing it, and if it’s making Ae calculate the symbol as if it’s cycling 30 times a second.

Is there a different type of import from Flash that just uses the symbols as an image layer? Either way, I’d like to use these Flash assets without losing the vector clarity of coming straight out of Flash. Any ideas or tips?
