  • Using SonyHDV camera as converter from FCP to NTSC (or HDTV)??

Posted by Ben Ged low on August 21, 2006 at 5:12 pm

I’ve heard conflicting rumours. Can I use my SonyHDV camera to act as a throughput (as I once did with the PD150) to output my clip or sequence to an NTSC (or HD?) monitor?

You might be able to do that but why would you put that many hours on your camera?

    Thank you Steve,

I suspected as much. I’m off to check out the Decklink and AJA Kona cards.

    Much appreciated.

    Hi Steve,

I got a $45 DVI adaptor … DVI out to consumer HD. Plugged it into a Toshiba consumer HD. Works just fine. I have to sacrifice an LCD screen, but I can at least be sure what the final output is going to look like on a consumer HD TV.
