Using SBAC-US10 SxS card reader on Mac Pro with XDCAM Transfer?
I’m not getting previews and thumbnails in XDCAM Transfer 2.1 when using the SBAC-US10 USB SxS card reader on a Mac Pro.
The details:
– I’ve loaded the SxS device drivers.
– I can put the same SxS card in my Macbook Pro’s Expresscard slot and XDCam Transfer gives me previews and thumbnails. I haven’t tried using the SBAC-US10 on my Macbook Pro, but since I jsut thought of it I will go try after I post this. Just one more variable to eliminate.
– Both the Mac Pro and Macbook Pro are running the same versions of everything (Sony software, drives, and Final Cut Pro). However, the Macbook Pro is running Leopard while the Mac Pro is running Tiger 10.4.11.
– The Mac Pro DOES get previews and thumbnails in XDCAM Transfer when using a PDW-U1 XDCAM disc drive with discs shot on an F335.
– I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and XDCAM Transfer and repaired disc permissions with no change.
Anyone have any ideas? Sony tech support was a bit stumped as well since I’d already tried just about everything they were going to tell me to try.

How did you get an SBAC-US10? I didn’t think they had been released yet (at least that’s the story I get from B&H and Promax).

That’s the same reaction Sony had when I called them! Apparently we got one of the first ones that shipped.

Situations have changed. New issues have arisen.
XDCAM Transfer 2.10 has thumbnail cache issue on OS 10.6.1
Nothing specifically to do with SBAC.
