  • Using satellite images for maps (bing etc) – commercial use

    Hi everyone,

I’ve been asked to put together a zoom-out animation of the UK using satellite images for a marketing video and I was wondering what people are doing about licensing for this?

I know you can use Geolayers for the datasets (bing for example), but my client doesn’t want the attribution tagline onscreen, so I’ve been asked to get a quote for the commercial usage without this. Any idea how to go about this? Or do other people just chance it and remove the attribution overlay?

Any help would be gratefully received! Any sources for maps that can be purchased? Or are free for commercial use?

    Thanks
    Sam

Haven’t done so, but might be worth checking if any of the satellite image providers requirements are met by putting the attribution in the end titles.
