  • Using reflection channel as luminance channel

    Hello-
I would like to know if the following is possible, I have a bunch of colored clones that you can see in the reflection channel of a ribbon, they make it look like a rainbow is being reflected off of the ribbon, I would like these various reflections to be brighter and maybe send light so that it looks like the object is glowing various colors, like neon or something. is such a thing possible? Can I rewire the channel somehow to send the reflection channel into the luminance channel?

I don’t want to start adding luminance and glow etc. to the materials of the clones because I already have them doing something else int he scene.
    hope this makes sense.
    Thanks for your help everyone!
    Matt

I don’t think there’s any way to rewire the reflection channel like that. Sounds like something you’d want to do in post, either with an object buffer, a reflection pass, or probably a combination of the two.
