IN FCP7, if I wanted to have a clip move from one side of the screen to the other and maintain the clip’s position on the up and down axis, I would set a keyframe, grab the wireframe, hold the SHIFT key and move the image. Holding the shift key would lock the image in position so it wouldn’t drift up or down as I was moving it. How do you do that in Premiere?

Simple. Set your keyframe, go into “motion” in the effects control panel, and either type in a new X coordinate or increment it by mousing.

The latest update (2015.3) allows you to do just that.
