Has anyone attempted an FCP to Avid MC (or vice-versa) trip using PP as an intermediary? I love Automatic Duck, and use it often, but does PP’s new functionality make it’s basic functionality obsolete?

Automatic Duck is still a better tool. Premiere after crashes Avid when sending AAfs to it. I recently sent a short scene over to FCP from Avid using Premiere as the middle-man and it worked okay. I would still say though that Automatic Duck is a better tool, as it brings over more things like volume adjustments, speed changes, etc. Premiere seems to only bring over the most basic of effects, like possibly crossfades.

I’m actually going to be purchasing Automatic Duck to bring Avid sequences over to FCP for finishing in COLOR. Premiere will work, but won’t bring over as many fx and volume adjustments & titles.
