Does anyone have a certain process they follow when creating basic textures using Photoshop? I’m about to start a job that I wanted to create the exact color textures in Photoshop and bring them into C4D.

I guess what I am asking is there a certain size that works better when bringing it into Cinema?

Size depends entirely on the final pixel resolution of your render and how zoomed-in you’ll be on the texture. Basically you want to make sure it’s not going to be shown at greater than 100% to avoid pixelization, and it doesn’t have to be any bigger than that.

The texture should not have it’s pixels bigger than the screens pixels or you see them, so it depends on how much of the screen your object with the texture on it occupies. Your screen is 1920×1080 and if the object never occupies more than 1/2 the screen you really only need a texture 1/2 the size of the screen (well a bit bigger probably). If you are going to zoom way in on the object the texture would have to be much bigger (as big as needed – you don’t know until you know how close you are going to get)

Ok. Now, I’m beginning to understand.

The animation will start from behind the camera and rollover the logo. So, that’s pretty close up and zoomed.
